Boring performances

The amphitheater kinda place at IIA (Indian Institute of AstroPhysics), Hoskote, where I had been on Mar 24th and 25th, as part of a learning program at REAP (Research Education Advancement Program). All of us freinds spent the whole night chitchatting and playing truth or dare. This amphitheater was home to our (boring) performances during the dark of the night!

Wired moon

This shows an optical effect. A wire is at a distance, and in front of the moon. The wire seems to be thinner in the area of the moon. I dont know abt the name of the effect (Somebody help me). I had heard about it in Dr.GS Ranganath''s lecture. It has something to do with spherical aberration if I'm right. Thanks to Goo for taking the picture.

Rainy Breezy Summer

Bangalore has rains even when it is supposed to be mid-summer! This is the lower part of a windchime i gifted my brother this year for his B'day. The chimes ringing in the breeze with a more than gentledrizzle, was more than what I could ask for!

As a kid, used to call it a helicopter fly!

A cute li'l dragonfly which was patiently posing for the camera near our balcony. Thanks to my bro for spotting it!

Cocos Nucifera + Helios

The sunset through the coconut branches make it even more romantic. Thanks to the Arcane Crapper for taking the pic.

The time the Horizon is at its peak

The Sun setting into the distant trees at Kavalur, which replace the classic hills of a usual sunset pic. Thanks to Goo for taking the pic.

Jupiter

This was taken from a 2m telescope at Kavalur. The tiny splotch is an optical effect called the 'ghost image', which occured as it wasnt focussed well. But that doesnt stop us from admiring the beauty of the banded Jupiter

coloring the summer orange

The flowers of the Gulmohur, colouring up the Summer. A wonderful retreat that makes the heat of the summer bearable. Well, It aint thaaaaaat hot here. But that makes it even more romantic.

Those tall pillars in the Garden

Hari told me that a bark-up photo of a coconut tree would be beautiful. This pic tells me why. But, it wudve been better if the sky wasnt cloudy

Golden Tar

The main road near my house seemed to be the most unlikely picturesque spot......... Until this one

Butter in the sky

I love interesting cloud patterns. Well, this looked Yummy rather than beautiful!

Cycling through memory lane

Cycling in the evening near Goo's house. It had been ages since I had been cycling. Wanted to chronicle this, plus, I like the evening shadows. Reminded me of the good ol' high school days, when I used to cycle daily......... untill I broke one of my teeth. Now.... I feel like cycling, way after I sold my cycle off.
